Bobbie Burgers was born in 1973 in Vancouver, B.C and received a B.A. in Art History in 1996 from the University of Victoria.
She has studied in Aix-en-Provence, France and returns often there to recapture the life, light and spirit of Provence that she imbues into her paintings.
Burgers is known for her luscious bouquets and pastoral landscapes replete with sumptuous color and bold, vivacious movement.
Believing that the tragedy of beauty is its inevitability to fade, she captures that fleeting moment and makes one pause and absorbs the wonder of what surrounds us.
Burgers’ strong, assured brush work and keen sense of colour are the essences of her work, which has become richer, denser and more complex as her ideas rapidly evolve.
She has been exhibited in more than twenty three solo and group exhibitions within the past five years.
