Cyril Rolando is a self-taught artist from Paris, which love’s to focus primarily on human emotions.
Despite never attending art school, Cyril’s work shines through as creative and surreal.
He is currently working in Southern France as clinical psychologist, but spends his free time producing surreal and fantasy digital art. Cyril characterizes his work as “otherworldly”, as his own intuition / philosophical perspectives of human life influence each piece.
Many of his works feature lost children in search of “their truth” or animals who critique or play a human role.
A great source of inspiration comes from artists such as Tim Burton and Hayao Miyazaki, who Cyril says “are both the roots of my own world”.
“I think humans are proud, mistrustful and self-centered (and I am human).
I want to hand over to the animals, to critic or play human roles.
They don’t carry hidden symbols, this is just a return to innocence, a naive vision of the world.
This is a return to childhood, where animals can speak, dreams become reality and imagination rules the world.”
