Platinum

Artistic Studio

Platinum is an image conception studio that uses all available artistic means to find the best solution to create images.
We are a blend of singular visions, artists who work together with the common goal of creating an eclectic and diverse work.
Platinum strives to make impossible images become reality.

After 3 years working as a photo assistant in an advertising and fashion studio in Rio de Janeiro, Leonardo Vilela traveled to Paris, where he spent 3 years studying photography and developing his CGI skills. In 1991, Leonardo returned to Rio and found his own studio: Platinum, a studio ahead of its time combining photography and digital retouching.
Graphic designer and digital artist, Flavio Albino assumed the post-production area in 1997, giving a professional dimension to the sector.
In 2001, Luciano Honorato, illustrator, joined in to add 3D as a new tool.

In Brazil, Platinum pioneered the concept of integrated digital photography, a technique that consists of using all available resources on an image composition, such as photography, illustration, 3D and CGI, mixing all seamlessly together.
With this new approach, Platinum took sway of the local market and rapidly expanded its activity all over the world.

Today Platinum operates with a staff of thirteen artists with different backgrounds.
Thanks to this diversity, Platinum has been getting national and international recognition.
One of its images, the kangaroo, is now part of the Louvre Museum permanent archive.
Along the years Platinum has been collecting important awards, including five Lions in Cannes, three NY festival Clios, three London Festival awards, and two golds on EPICA, Europe’s premier Creative Awards.
